Magnesia

Family Overview

Magnesia (magnesium oxide, MgO) is a specialty ceramic with outstanding high-temperature performance, used primarily in thermal engineering, heating elements, and refractory applications. The cost-effective base material is suitable for mass production and the mechanical strength of the open porous material can be adapted based on application requirements.

Application examples include:

  • Mineral insulated thermoelectric couples
  • Mineral insulated instrument leads
  • Crushable tubes for mineral insulated cables
  • Mineral insulated heating conductors
